For onlyfy by XING, building custom reporting in-house was a competitive advantage in the platform's early days. Its self-built solution was tightly tailored to the needs of DACH recruiting teams, and customers valued that specificity. But as the product grew, so did the cost of maintaining it.
Development iterations slowed. Every new customer reporting request required significant engineering effort. Skilled developers found themselves maintaining visualization infrastructure instead of advancing the core Applicant Tracking System, negatively affecting go-to-market speed as a result.
At the same time, the expectations of recruiting teams were shifting. Talent acquisition leaders no longer wanted to export data and discuss what happened last quarter. They wanted to understand bottlenecks in real time, monitor KPIs such as time-to-interview, and act on insights without waiting for a custom report. Static dashboards were no longer enough.

onlyfy made a deliberate buy-over-build decision: rather than becoming a BI vendor, the team focused its engineering capacity on what they do best, recruiting intelligence. The architecture they chose reflects a clear division of responsibility:
The result is Mira, an AI agent powered by ThoughtSpot Embedded with Spotter, embedded natively inside the onlyfy platform. Recruiters ask natural language questions like "How is our funnel performing?" or "Where are candidates dropping off?" and Mira returns visual, actionable answers without requiring a separate login, a new tool, or any SQL knowledge.
To lower the barrier for non-technical users, the team built in guided prompts: curated starter questions that help recruiters understand what to ask and how to explore the data already in the system. Analytics now happens inside the recruiting workflow, not after it.

Within three months of launch, the results validated the approach. Customers began creating dashboards and asking natural-language questions at a pace the previous custom analytics layer could never have supported. Engagement with the AI-powered experience grew steadily, with recruiters exploring data directly through Mira rather than depending on engineering cycles for new views or reports.
For onlyfy's engineering team, the shift has been equally significant. Freed from the maintenance burden of a proprietary analytics layer, developers can now focus on building the core features that differentiate the platform, accelerating both product quality and go-to-market speed.
For the sales team, the AI-powered analytics experience has become a genuine differentiator. Sales conversations have moved from product demos to strategic discussions about how recruiting teams can make better decisions faster. Customers who see Mira in action consistently respond positively to the AI-powered analytics experience.

onlyfy has laid out a six-month migration plan to move their entire customer base from legacy reporting to the new AI experience. The team has taken a full change management approach with onboarding sessions, in-product guidance, and coordinated enablement across Sales and Customer Success.
Success is tracked through behavioral metrics: activation rates, recurring usage, liveboard engagement, and (most importantly) AI questions asked. Every recruiter who asks Mira instead of building a manual report is evidence that the transition is working.
Looking ahead, the team plans to refine guided prompts further and expand the ways Mira can support recruiters across the hiring workflow. The goal remains unchanged: give every talent team the fastest, most reliable path from data to decision without ever leaving the platform they already use.
