ThoughtSpot’s Modern Analytics Cloud Receives ISO 27001 Certification

A year after launching the company’s first SaaS platform, ThoughtSpot continues to meet and exceed customers’ security, privacy, and governance needs

SUNNYVALE, Calif. — November 8, 2021 — ThoughtSpot, the Modern Analytics Cloud company, today announced that it achieved the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification, demonstrating the company’s commitment to privacy, security, and data protection. The company’s entire analytics platform, including the core ThoughtSpot application, individual ThoughtSpot services, as well as ThoughtSpot Everywhere, the company’s development platform, received the certification. This comes on the heels of the company receiving SOC 2 Type II attestation at the beginning of the year.  

ISO 27001 is recognized globally as the standard for information security, mandating numerous processes for establishing, maintaining, and delivering an information security management system (ISMS). Companies receiving this certification have met more than 100 security requirements that govern the creation, implementation, and management of a modern analytics system. These requirements include physical protection of data, software development practices, systems architecture, and operational processes such as risk management and business continuity. With the new certification, customers can rely on both ThoughtSpot’s technology offerings and business practices to protect their data.

ThoughtSpot’s certification was issued after a formal audit was performed by the British Standards Institution (BSI). Founded in 1901, BSI is the national standards body of the United Kingdom. It audits and provides certification to companies worldwide who implement management systems standards. BSI is one of the world’s largest certification bodies, with more than 80,000 clients across the globe.
