As I look back on my first year at the helm of ThoughtSpot EMEA, I wanted to take a moment to celebrate, give thanks, and share some recent highlights. First and foremost, I’m in awe of the impressive transformations our customers have achieved by leveraging search and AI-driven analytics. After many years working in the area of Customer Experience, witnessing our customers succeed is the thing that gets me up in the morning - even before the alarm goes off.
Despite challenging market conditions in the UK and Europe, ThoughtSpot EMEA more than doubled its customer base and achieved record sales growth of more than 300% (FY ending Jan 2019 over the previous year), adding new major customers like Daimler and Vodafone in ten countries throughout the region. What’s even more exciting is the growth in users we’ve seen among both new and existing customers. Over the last fiscal year, we’ve grown our users by nearly 20x!
Why are enterprises doubling down on search and AI to compete in the modern economy? And what’s next for these businesses and the industry at large? The best place to get the inside scoop on exceptional digital transformation stories is at one of our upcoming ‘Thought Leaders’ conferences in London on June 4th and Frankfurt on June 6th. There you’ll learn about BT’s award-winning project to empower 1.2 million business customers to analyse their billing data, along with other inspiring stories from companies like Vodafone, Carlson Wagonlit Travel, and Payback.
Scaling, to serve and innovate
My second ambition for my first year was to scale up the EMEA business to ensure we execute well and support our growing customer base. To this end, I’m delighted to say we’ve more than doubled the size of our team in six countries across the region. On the leadership team, we’ve recently appointed Daniel Cuffley as Regional VP Western Europe and Benjamin Caller as Senior Director, EMEA Alliances.
We’ve also brought ThoughtSpot to EMEA, giving customers access to multiple industry-firsts in AI and search, along with enhanced cloud support. Our new voice-driven analytics engine, SearchIQ, lets users issue voice commands to search data and get instant, predictive results. A new suite of advanced analytics tools in ThoughtSpot 5 puts data science capabilities in the hands of everyday business users.
Since I’ve joined, we’ve been continually expanding our partnership ecosystem to amplify ThoughtSpot’s reach and technological capabilities. Our partnership with Google Cloud Platform and DataRobot, announced at Beyond, our first customer conference, are notable examples of the latter. You’ll hear more about partners including Data Robot, Assimil8 and Data Technology at our upcoming Thought Leaders events.
Why does all this matter to you?
The more we sell and grow our operation, the more we learn and invest in new innovations that make ThoughtSpot’s search and AI-driven analytics even more powerful and transformative.
We hear so much about the importance of sustaining growth and productivity. However as many businesses learned the hard way, these don’t arise simply from cost-cutting or producing more of the same. The businesses that thrive today are tapping into their data to discover new revenue streams and deploy human capital and machine resources more productively. ThoughtSpot enables companies to do both.
Thank you for your continued support and we hope to see you at Thought Leaders in London (4 June) or Frankfurt (6 June)!
