Self-Service Learning with Search Replay company | ThoughtSpot

ThoughtSpot’s search driven interface makes it easy for business users to self-serve many of their reporting and analytics needs. 
ThoughtSpot’s search interface is often compared to other search interfaces such as Google or Amazon. Although all search interfaces are designed for easily finding information, not all search is equal. Google’s search has natural language design.

While Amazon and Zappos use faceted search which is attribute oriented. 

ThoughtSpot’s search is “relational search.” It is a search that understands relational constructs such as grouping, aggregation, filter etc. that are relevant for analytics.
ThoughtSpot’s search interaction model is question-answer based. You type a search (question) and the system produces a result data set rendered as a visualization (answer). You can save the answers that interest you and pin your visualization to dashboards. 

Unlike other BI tools, it is very easy for users to get started with using ThoughtSpot. They just need a basic orientation on how to use relational search. Typically, this orientation involves  an admin-guided, hour-long walk through. ThoughtSpot wanted to give users the option to learn on their own by building a learning mechanism into the product itself. This learning mechanism is called Search Replay. 
With Search Replay, users can pick any visualization in the system and “replay” step-by-step the search used to build it. If your company wants to showcase specific visualizations and how to build them, you simply build and save them. Then, users can replay them to learn how they are built. See an example below.
